Walking your dog in East Cheshire

There are plenty of dog friendly walks around Macclesfield but if you venture just a few minutes south of town, towards either Warren or Oakgrove, you’ll find the Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s Danes Moss nature reserve.  Danes Moss is ‘an oasis of lowland raised bog, one of the scarcest and most threatened habitats in the UK’.  At around 25 acres there’s plenty of space to stretch all your legs before returning for sustenance.

If any of that sounds tempting, then why not have a think about visiting us.

Seasonal dog walking tips

Whenever you are planning to walk, there are a few tips you should follow to make sure every adventure is a happy one. On shorter, darker days; Invest in some high viz for you and your dog and carry a dedicated torch.

When the days eventually get brighter and warmer, replace the high viz and torch with sunscreen and water (for you and the dog). Then, whenever you go remember that having a charged phone is a modern day essential, as is keeping your pooch on a lead, especially in open countryside.

Enjoy the walk and we’ll look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
